The Location

Dating back to the 9th Century, St Monans is one of the small group of pretty, historic fishing villages which are located within the East Neuk of Fife. It has a thriving fishing harbour, and the Fife Coastal Path passes through the remains of Newark Castle. The grounds of St Monans Church offer breath-taking views over the Firth of Forth, and the much photographed three piers. The East Pier Smokehouse, Craig Millar@16 West End, and The Giddy Gannet are within the village, and Bowhouse food market, which is close by, is a must visit. The market takes place each month just outside the village and showcases some of the very best local food & drink, music and crafts. St Andrews, the ‘home of golf’, is only 20 minutes’ drive away.
